Children and Family Ministries

Here at Berlin Congregational Church "We Love Kids" and their Families. We believe in meeting people where they are and we strive to provide a ministry that will fit your needs. Our lives, like the church's, are always changing and so are our programs.
We are an intergenerational church and many of our activities reflect that.
Below is a selection of some of the programs we offer. For more information or questions on anything you read on this page, please contact our church office.

• Children's Church is a special Worship Service just for our Children on the First Sunday of the Month.
• Sunday School Program is for Children ages 3 thru 8th grade.
• Nursery is open and staffed every Sunday from 9:45-11:15 am for newborns - 2 years of age.
• Confirmation Classes
  Our Confirmation program is run by the Pastor and our diaconate, for teens starting in 9th grade.
• Youth Group 
  Our Youth group is for teens in 6th grade and over. We meet bi-monthly on Fridays. We are involved in missions, retreats, regular church activities and many special outings. 
• Youth Choir
  Our youth have the choice of joining our all church choir and/or we have a hand bell choir that plays for special events and/or the holidays.
• Bible Study Opportunities 
  Depending on the season we have different opportunities for Bible study and /or edifying discussion groups.
  1. Every Thursday morning there is a Bible study with the pastor.
  2. On Tuesday evenings we have either a Bible study group or a Christian Women's Book Club. 
  3. Wednesday evenings during lent there is a program called Lenten conversations which includes dinner and Bible study/conversation 
  4. Our church uses the Bethel Bible Series as a teaching tool for our parishioners. It is a two year Bible study certificate program.
  5.Special speakers are brought in from time to time to address special    subjects. 

SPECIAL EVENTS HOSTED BY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

ALL YOU CAN EAT PASTA SUPPER AND SERVICE AND GOODS AUCTION 
The second Saturday in Feburary we offer an auction with many different items and an all you can eat pasta supper !

ADVENT FAMILY WORKSHOP
The Sunday evening after Thanksgiving we get together for a Pot Luck Dinner and workshop filled with activities for all ages. We make advent wreaths and many different Christmas ornaments and crafts. We also hold one of  these workshops with different themes for Easter and Harvest.

ALL CHURCH TRIP
C.E. hosts a bus trip every September to different place like zoo's, museums, aquariums etc..

ALL CHURCH PICNIC
The second Sunday in June is Childrens Sunday and following this very special worship service we have our all church picnic.  We have a great day of outdoor fellowship.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Our VBS program is held the last full week in June (depening on the completion of the school year.) Your children won't want to miss out on this week of big fun. There is no charge for our program in lew of a registration fee we take part in an inspiring mission project that teachs kids to care about others in their community.
